Your Service, Your Rights

In 2020-2021, NSW Council for Intellectual Disability (CID) and South Australian Council for Intellectual Disability (SACID) developed resources about the rights of people with an intellectual disability in services. They also delivered workshops for people with an intellectual disability and NDIS providers in NSW and South Australia. In 2021 the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission asked Inclusion Australia to roll out the resources and workshops nationally.

Inclusion Australia worked in partnership with our state-based member organisations, and First Peoples Disability Network (FPDN), National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA) and Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA) to:
o develop, customise and deliver training material to support people with intellectual disability from a variety of cultural, geographic and age backgrounds
o assist people with intellectual disability all over Australia to contribute to an increase in the quality of the services and supports they receive.
o Inclusion Australia worked with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver free workshops for people with an intellectual disability and their supporters.
