I have known and worked with William Ward-Boas since I took on the role of CEO with VALID in 2022 – first as a colleague, later as a member of VALID’s Board, and currently as the Board’s Deputy and Acting Chair.
In all these roles William has demonstrated many excellent qualities: a strong sense of commitment, great capacity – to do and to learn, intellectual curiosity and a wonderful consideration and compassion for others.
He has a deep knowledge of current issues and developments in the disability sector, and interpersonal and communication skills of a high order. His dedication to a strong value base is evident in all he does, and he is a delight to work with.
William clearly has every intention to make a significant contribution to the disability field, and I have no doubt at all he will do so. I can recommend him without hesitation.

We (ARTD Consultants, an independent evaluation company) have worked with Will in different ways since 2019. First, as a lived experience evaluation team member designing an evaluation, collecting feedback and analysing data for a youth leadership program for people with disability. Then through his work with Amaze. Most recently, as our client for an evaluation of a project he was leading – working with other advocacy organisations to develop rights education for people with disability. Will is a passionate advocate, thoughtful, collaborative and focused on making things better.
